Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride

I recommend this funny chapter book by Kate DiCamillo about a mischievous pig called Mercy Watson. Every Saturday Mrs. Watson cooks a delicious meal for Mercy, Mr. Watson and her. After eating lunch, Mr. Watson goes for a ride in his luxurious pink convertible car with Mercy. Mercy has this bad habit on seating in the driver's seat and Mr. Watson always calls for help so Mrs. Watson can come to the rescue to convince Mercy to move. Mrs. Watson persuaded Mercy by telling her that she will get extra hot buttered toast when she comes from her ride with Mr. Watson. Something unexpectedly happens that Mercy drives Mr. Watson car and the adventure begings for Mr. Watson and his pig Mercy. Children will love and have fun reading this book. At the end of the story, children will learn an important lesson. The lesson is to always use your seatbelt when your ride in a car because you never know what could happen. The pictures are very colorful and depicts the content of the story.

My family is forever *

This lovely picture book by Nancy Carlson is about a Korean girl who is adopted. This girl explains the different ways that a child could be like or look like his or her parents and about the types of family that exist. This girl does not look physically like her parents but she has the same talents as them. She is a good dancer as her mother and a good chef as her father. This book would be helpful to teach children that children are different from their parents. Children could be like their parents physically, emotionally and having the same talents. A great book for teachers to talk about adoption.

First Food Fight: This Fall and other Poems

This poetry book by Marilyn Singer provides a collection of different poems about 12 children that go to the same school and narrate the poems they composed about their extraordinary school year with their teacher Ms. Mundy. The kids narrate the special holidays of certainmonths, their frienship, the trouble they caused at their school and their favorite classes. I love this poetry book and I recommend it because the poems are funny and children will have a hilarious time when reading this poetry book. The text is excellent for children of six years old and older to understand and easy to read.

How do Dinosaurs say good night?

The author of the book is Jane Yolen and the illustrator is Mark Teague. This funny picture book is about playful dinosaurs who do not want to go to sleep. Their parents are very upset and wait for the dinosaurs to make the correct decision. The dinosaurs show a lot of misbehavior for not wanting to go to bed. The story ends when these terrible dinosaurs realize their bad behavior and go to bed with a good night kiss to their parents. This book has extraordinary pictures because reflect the actions and emotions of the dinosaurs. I love this book because children really behave like real dinosaurs when they do not want to go to bed. Also, this book can teach children good bed habits so they can learn and stop the drama they do when it is time to sleep.I suggest this picture book to children from three to six years old.

DANCING ON THE EDGE

This young adult book is from the author Han Nolan. This book touch my heart completely by knowing the hard life a little girl named Miracle went through. Miracle was born from her mother's dead body and grew up with her grandmother who was very supertitious and lived in a psychic world. Miracle thought that she was not real because she felt invisble to her family and burned herself. Also she thought she was going to disappear by burning herseld because her grandmother made her believe that her father melted and was gone. Miracle went to the hospital and then got professional help to cure her wounds that she had in her heart. Miracle with the help of her aunt Casey and the doctor got to know the whole truth of her life and the story of her parents before she was born. She realized that her grandmother had affect her life very bad for years.I recommend this book to be read because it is very interesting.
